Featherless AI is the largest open-source LLM inference provider on Hugging Face, founded in 2024 and led by CEO and co-founder Eugene Cheah. This technical moat lets the company serve the long tail of fine-tuned and niche-language models that no other provider hosts, which is what drove the initial Reddit-fueled signup surge and continues to differentiate it from competitors who cover only the top 100 models.
